DISTANT BODIES

OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS AND CREATIVES

An open call exploring the question:

What happens when our bodies can no longer come together?

OPEN CALL FOR DIGITAL EXHIBITION

DISTANT BODIES

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN OUR BODIES CAN NO LONGER COME TOGETHER?

STARTING POINT

The current outbreak of the Coronavirus is threatening to bring our world of culture to a standstill. We need to act upon and adjust with new formats of exchange and participation. For now, MON will be creating a digital platform displaying works of art, streaming videos and communicating with our audience and each other in real time. Therefore we are launching an OPEN CALL in order to support the connection of creative minds and to offer an alternative to the current lack of physical exhibitions and interactions.

QUESTION

The call is addressed to all artists and creatives worldwide. The project "Distant Bodies" is interested in exploring the meaning of bodies coming together. Based on the current global virus outbreak we are asking ourselves what does it mean to be separated. At the same time we are keen to explore a wide range of your artistic and creative position that deal with the body itself in all its facets.

The works will be displayed digitally on a digital MON platform which will enable to show, participate, exchange and discuss. Therefore, the submitted entries must either be digital or in case they are not, the submission must be a digital documentation of the work, able to be represented on an online platform. For example, if your planned work is a choreographic piece, the submission format could be a video or photographic documentation of the performance.

We accept photo, video, audio and graphic material in all common digital file formats.

MEDIA

We accept all media as long as the works submitted can be represented with photo, video, graphics or digital sound files.

DEADLINE

The call is open end. This means that we will continuously accept submissions for the entire duration of the "Distant Bodies" project. It is planned to let the project run as long as the global virus outbreak is present.
